Brief Description:  Scarf joint on the top wing skins

At the point on the wing where the outboard skin overlaps the inboard skin it sits proud to the tank skin. To alleviate this I spent today filing the top of the inboard skin and the bottom of the outboard skin so that the skin thickness gradually gets thinner. This creates a scarf joint so that the skin no longer sits proud of the tank skin. I also used the vice grip tool I purchased to create a slight bend in the outboard edge where it will lay on top of the inboard skin. This alleviates the problem of the skin edges pillowing up as the skin is riveted. It creates the tightest possible joint. The scarf joint was primed at the file points. After both wings were completed on the top portion the skins were clecoed on in preparation for riveting. Now to just find someone to help me.
